Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site function correctly, remember your preferences, and improve your experience. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage.

2. How we use cookies

dishGO uses cookies to operate the platform, maintain security, and understand how visitors use the site. We categorise cookies into the following types:

3. Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled without affecting core features.

  • Authentication cookies — maintain your logged-in session on the business dashboard
  • Security cookies — protect against cross-site request forgery and other threats
  • Payment session cookies — used by Stripe to process card payments securely

These cookies do not require consent under UK/EU cookie regulations as they are strictly necessary for the service.

4. Functional cookies

These cookies enhance the user experience by remembering preferences:

  • Cart persistence — your basket contents and selected fulfillment mode are stored locally so they persist across page refreshes
  • Customer details — your name, email, and phone are remembered locally for faster checkout on return visits

These are stored using browser local storage rather than traditional cookies and are kept only on your device.

5. Analytics and performance cookies

On the production website we use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to load analytics configured in our GTM container (including Google Analytics 4). These help us understand how visitors use the site — for example which pages are visited and how people navigate the platform.

Analytics cookies are non-essential. Google Tag Manager is not loaded at all until you choose “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. Choosing “Essential only” keeps analytics completely unloaded. You can change your mind later via Cookie settings in the footer.

6. Marketing cookies

dishGO does not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and obtain consent before setting any marketing cookies.

7. Third-party cookies

Some cookies may be set by third-party services that we use:

  • Stripe — sets cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention
  • Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics — may set analytics cookies only after you accept analytics cookies

These cookies are governed by the respective third party’s privacy and cookie policies.

8. Cookie consent

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. For analytics we show a banner on first visit (production site only). Until you accept analytics, we do not load Google Tag Manager or request Google analytics endpoints. You can accept analytics or continue with essential cookies only, and revoke analytics later from Cookie settings.

Your choice is stored in local storage on your device so we can remember it on return visits. You can reopen Cookie settings from the site footer at any time.

9. Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are set
  • Delete individual or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific or all sites
  • Block third-party cookies

Blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect the functionality of the platform.

To clear local storage data (cart, preferences), you can use your browser’s developer tools or clear site data through browser settings.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this cookie policy as our use of cookies changes. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the most recent revision.
